Being able to drive to your destination—whether work, school, or elsewhere—seems like a blessing until … BOOM! You are at a standstill, barely creeping along. Yup. You have just hit traffic and are now stuck. Now what? While the first thing you may want to do is scream and yell and raise your blood pressure, there are some ways you can actually turn a traffic jam into a good thing—if you can believe that!

When stuck in your next traffic jam, turn lemons into lemonade with these tips!

First, take a trip down memory lane by turning on some old-school tunes to listen to! Maybe you and your friends used to listen to a song over and over again in high school that you could never get enough of, or maybe the songs will help you remember the concert you first attended and the road trip to see your favorite band! No matter what the song, it is fun to sing along and think about the memory that goes with it.

Are you a student who has a test coming up in class? Since you are at a stand-still, you might as well break open the books and note cards, and use the extra time to study! You have nothing else to do, so you might as well use the extra study time to your advantage. Who knows—the additional studying in the car during traffic could just push your test score from a B to an A!

Traffic is also a good time to catch up on some (audio) reading. Is there a movie you wish to see, but want to read the book first? Now is as good of a time as any to get started on that book!
