Roads are the Backbone of the Transportation System
Roads. We travel them every day. Whether we are going to work, picking the kids up from school, running errands, traveling to visit family, or just going for a drive, roads are our main source of getting from point A to point B. Even if we did travel another way (such as by plane or train), we still use roads to get to the airport or train station. So, since we use roads so much, why is it hard to get people to understand how important it is to make sure they are kept as up to par as possible?
We Rely Heavily on Transportation
Roads help boost our economy. This form of transportation helps make productivity flow more easily, so business and personal transactions can take place faster, helping to increase profitability—especially for businesses.
As a result, because individuals and businesses depend so much on roads, it hinders production when roadways are out of commission (due to potholes, cracks in asphalt, etc). Fortunately, if we do our part—such as paying an increase in gas tax—we can ensure that our roads have the funding they need. This funding provides for the upkeep they need in order to prevent any more road closings or delays. This will also help prevent traffic jams, because traffic will not have to be forced off one road to another due to issues with the asphalt caused by lack of funding.
We are proud to be able to do our part in helping keep the roads in excellent condition for drivers.
