Planning for Summer Fun for the Family | Wright Brothers Construction

Here at Wright Brothers Construction, we pride ourselves on being family-owned and operated since 1961. With that comes hard work and dedication—to both our community and our families. For this blog, let’s turn the focus to family, especially since the kids will be out of school in a few weeks. What are your family’s plans for the summer?

Family Fun Is About to Begin

Having fun this summer as a family doesn’t have to be about spending money. In fact, there are plenty of fun activities that families can do together that don’t even cost a thing.

For example, host a bike parade in your neighborhood. Tell your kids to get their friends together to go around and decorate their bikes with flags, streamers and stickers! Then, have neighborhood families sit at the end of their driveways to cheer on the kids (aka the bike parade) as they make their way throughout the neighborhood showing off their decorative bikes. This activity is also a great form of exercise for children.

Fishing is another fun activity many families can do together that doesn’t cost a lot. Plus, here in Cleveland, there are many ponds and lakes that allow fishing as long as you have the appropriate license.

In addition, who doesn’t love an obstacle course? And what better time to create a new obstacle course right in your own backyard than after the first mow of the season? Are you planning a kid-friendly cookout this weekend? Prepare by establishing an obstacle course with hula hoops, jump ropes and other challenges that the kids can race through. This will keep them occupied and entertained—and physically active!
