Make Time for Family in 2017
Two brothers started this construction company more than 50 years ago. Without their love and respect for each other and the community, Wright Brothers Construction wouldn’t be where it is today—an organization with more than 350 employees who work hard with integrity, urgency and selflessness. At Wright Brothers, we understand the importance of family and the role a family plays in our daily lives—both personal and professional.
It Can’t Be All Work and No Play
Much like there’s no excuse not to exercise, there’s no reason why there can’t be time for family each and every day.
For starters, aim to have dinner as a family on most nights of the week. While a work meeting may run longer than expected or a child’s basketball game might start at 5 p.m., those should be the exceptions rather than the rule. When everyone is home, then everyone should be eating dinner as a family. Also, make the dinner table an electronic-free zone. No cell phones, no tablets, no electronics. Go “old school” and have conversations!
Do you have a pet? Start going for walks as a family in the evenings. Utilize even daily chores as an opportunity to spend time together. Folding laundry, mopping the floor, mowing the lawn, etc. Make it a time to spend together! And by working together, you’ll get the work done faster, meaning you can all have fun together once you’re finished.
Also, don’t forget to add in some “fun” family time on the calendar. Schedule one day a month where the entire family does something fun together, such as going to Dollywood for the day or catching a movie. Mark it on your calendar, and don’t cancel!
Wright Brothers Construction started with family and believes in family. While we work hard during the day, we also recognize the importance of family. When you join our team, you aren’t just an employee, you are a member of our family. Give us a call today to learn more about becoming a part of our family in 2017.
