Before entering the room for the interview, remember to consider the following:

First, are they competent? Do they have the necessary skills and education they need in order to successfully work in the position they are interviewing for at the company? Do you feel that they will be able to complete the tasks set before them? Make sure you feel like the answer to these questions is “yes” before hiring.

Second, will they make a good addition to the team you already have in place? There is no “I” in team, and in order to create a productive one, it needs to be made up of people who—while different—can work together harmoniously no matter what issues may arise. You do not want workers who will not listen to authority or who will be disrespectful to their colleagues.
