Don't Be Blue This Holiday Season
The holidays are meant to bring cheer all around. However, between work, children, holiday gatherings, visiting family, etc., the holiday season can become overwhelming quickly. As a result, you may begin to feel more holiday anxiety and stress than joy and happiness. Beat those holiday blues with these tips.
Don’t Worry, Be Happy
When attending your first holiday get-together of the season, take a look around at the food before filling your plate. While carbs are delicious, try to make a well-rounded plate. Overeating can lead to weight gain and bloating, which can dent your holiday cheer. Fill up your plate with fruits, vegetables and lean proteins—and eat the carbs in moderation.
Also, take the time in the craziness of the season to find time to work out and take care of yourself. Keep those doctors’ appointments, stay hydrated and eat well during the day when at work and at home, and fit in at least a little bit of physical activity every day. Make your physical and mental health a priority before all else. That can be the gift you give yourself this Christmas.
Remember, the holidays are supposed to be a time when you can actually take a break from the stress of work and just relax and focus on friends and family. So, use this time as an opportunity to have some fun this holiday season without the worry!
